Students from Class 1 to Class 8 in Uttar Pradesh are going to be promoted to the next class without any exam due to the Coronavirus outbreak. The Primary School Examination in UP were scheduled to be conducted between March 23 and March 28, 2020. Meanwhile, the COVID-19 virus that is spreading rapidly across the globe has been declared as a pandemic, and has already affected thousands of lives. Seeing the possible threat from Coronavirus and to stop the virus from spreading, the state government has also decided to shut down all schools and colleges till April 2, 2020.
UP School Students To Be Promoted Without Exams
The order issued by Additional Chief Secretary, Education Renuka Kumar reads, “Orders have been issued to promote all students, studying in schools run by the basic education department, of class one to eight to next classes without examination. All schools have been closed till April 2”.
Earlier to this, the UP Government has extended the closure of educational institutes, theatres, tourist places and malls till April 2, 2020 from March 31, 2020. According to the report of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, 16 positive cases of Coronavirus have been reported in the state of Uttar Pradesh.
UP Competitive Exams 2020 Postponed
The UP government has also decided to postpone all government competitive exams in the state till April 2, 2020. This suggests that the UPPSC BEO Exam that was scheduled to be conducted on March 22 is likely to be postponed till further notice.
UP Board Exam 2020 Paper Evaluation Process Delayed
In another development, the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad has stopped the UP Board Exam 2020 Class 10 and Class 12 paper evaluation process due to the Coronavirus Outbreak. This means that the UP Board Exam 2020 Class 10 and Class 12 Results are likely to be delayed.
