1988: Virat Kohli was born on November 5, 1988 in New Delhi, India.

2006: In December 2006, an 18-year-old Virat Kohli was playing a Ranji Trophy match for Delhi.

In 2007, his first Twenty20 debut match provided him highest run in the Inter State T20 Championship where he scored 179 runs at an average of 35.80.

2008: Kohli’s winning streak started early. He captained the victorious Indian team at the 2008 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup held in Malaysia.

2011: Virat Kohli was chosen over Suresh Raina in the 2011 Cricket World Cup and became the first Indian to score a century in a World Cup debut.

2012: With 185 runs in the 2012 ICC World Twenty20, he was the lone Indian to be featured in the the World Twenty20 Men’s XI team.

2014: In December 2014, Kohli was made the captain of the Test side for India’s first Test against Australia in Adelaide but lost despite scoring centuries in both innings.
