UPSC Releases Admit Card For NDA & NA Exam (II) 2019

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit cards for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II) 2019.

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the admit cards for the National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II) 2019. The examination will be held on November 17, 2019. The e-admit cards for the exam has been uploaded on the UPSC website.

On the day of the examination, candidates will have to carry a valid photo identity proof along with their e-admit card.

In case, the photograph is not visible or blurred or not available on the NDA Admit Card, candidates are advised to carry two identical photographs (one photograph for each session).

In case of any other discrepancy in the e-Admit Card, candidates are advised to contact the Commission immediately at e-mail ID usnda-upsc@nic.in latest by 4th November, 2019 to enable the Commission to take a decision in the matter.

Candidates are also advised to bring Black Ball Point Pen on the day of the examination as they will be required to fill the Attendance List and mark the answers in the OMR Answer Sheet with Black Ball Point Pen only.

The approximate number of vacancies which will be filled through this recruitment is 415. The number includes 370 vacancies in National Defence Academy, and 45 vacancies in Naval Academy.

How to download NDA Admit Card?

First of all you should keep in mind that the only way to get your NDA admit card, be it for NDA 1 or NDA 2, is online. The admission certificate is not sent by post or any other means. Now comes the part where you need to know how you can download it online. Simple steps to get the UPSC admit card for NDA exam are explained here. There are two ways. You can either download your admit card by accessing the link on this page, or you can first go to the official website and then follow steps.

To download NDA admit card from official website, follow these steps.

1st step. Go to upsc.gov.in.

2nd step. Click on admit cards.

3rd step. Then on the next page, click e-admit cards for various examinations of UPSC.

4th step. Now the page with all available e-admit cards of UPSC exams opens. If NDA admit card is available, then you will see this entry in the examination name column – National Defence Academy and Naval Academy Examination (II) 2019. Click download link in front of it.

5th step. E-admit card download page for NDA opens. Click the click here link under To Download e-Admit Card column.

6th step. On the next page, instructions open. Read them all. Scroll down and click yes under the question “have you read and taken the print out of important instructions”.6th step. 7th step. Then you get two options to download admit card of UPSC NDA. One is by registration ID and the other is by roll number.

If you click by registration ID, you have to enter registration ID, date of birth, security code.

However if you select roll number, then you have to enter roll number, and date of birth.

Many a times UPSC aspirants forget their registration number or the RID. Since it is very important to download admit card, UPSC has provided a simple way to get it back. The Forgot RID option. Steps to get it are shown below.

Step #1. Click on the download admit card link above. (Only available when admit card is available for download).

Step #2. When you go to the page on upsconline.nic.in to download NDA admit card, you will see Forgot RID option. Click it.

Step #3. On the next page, you will get a form. Here you have to enter your name, your father’s name, your mother’s name, and date of birth – all as filled in your application. Then click submit.

Step #4. Now your RID will be sent to you registered email ID and mobile number. So simply login to your registered email ID or open the sms app in your mobile phone and see the RID sent by UPSC.

Must Have Documents / Items On Day Of Exam

Travel light and do not carry unnecessary items to the exam hall. However there are some things that are mandatory, without which, you will not be allowed to take the exam. Here is that list.

Important items to take to exam center

  1. Your UPSC NDA 2 Admit Card 2019
  2. Valid photo ID
  3. Black ball pen

Valid photo ID means that photo ID which you have mentioned in the online application form. While filling the form, you were asked to specify any one of the following

  • Aadhar card
  • Driving License
  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • School Photo ID
  • Voter Card
  • Any other photo ID Card issued by the state or central government

Note: You will have to mark answers in OMR sheet. So please carry the black ball pen. You cannot ask other candidates to lend you a pen as you will not be allowed to talk to anyone during the exam. Also, you should not use pencil or ink pen because pencil may not be readable by OMR reader, and ink pen may damage the sheet.

What to do if NDA Admit Card 2019 November Not Issued?

UPSC says that if you do not get the admit card for NDA exam, or even any communication about it, even one week before the exam, then you should contact the Union Public Service Commission.

You can either contact UPSC in person or over call. In person you can visit the facilitation counter in UPSC officer. Via call, you need to dial 011–23385271, 011–23381125, 011–23098543 Extn 4119, 4120.

The commission has also warned that if candidate does not communicate at least one week before the exam, then candidate himself or herself will be responsible for not being able to appear in the exam.

And steps to take if there is any issue in the admit card

Simply put, the admit card should have two types of information

  1. Your details as you entered in the application form
  2. Details which the UPSC is assigning to you

In the first type are details like your name, photograph, father’s name, mother’s name. Whereas the second type of information includes exam center, instructions.

Now in the first type, the details should be exactly as you entered in the application form. And the second type should be as decided by the commission. You can see if any data is wrong if it does not match the form.

UPSC has advised that if candidates find any issue in the NDA admit card, then they should bring it to the notice of the commission immediately.

Also, if you get admit card of another candidate, then it is a processing error and you should at once contact UPSC. You can only appear for the exam if the admit card is yours.

Name abbreviated or short: Sometimes UPSC shortens your name if there are too many alphabets in the name. This is not an error. So do not panic in these cases.

Whenever you contact the UPSC, please mention these five details for sure

  1. Exam name and the exam of exam
  2. Your RID
  3. Roll number (if you have it)
  4. Your name in full and block letters
  5. Postal address as given in the form

Here are some important things that UPSC has said about the admit card. Please note them for your reference.

  • You will not get admit card by post.
  • No one will be allowed to appear in exam without the e-admission certificate.

Another important set of instructions is about banned items.

Banned items in UPSC exam hall

Mobile phones, pager or any electronic equipment, pen drive, smart watches, camera, blue tooth devices.

Since there will not be any safe place to keep valuables at the exam center, candidates should not bring any such thing. For example nowadays everyone carries mobile phones. But if you do so, you cannot enter the exam hall with it, and you will need to keep it someplace safe which will not be available. So better not to take it at all. Or if you are with someone, friend or family, then they can only keep your things while you take the exam.

UPSC NDA 2 2019

Every year UPSC conducts the NDA NA exam twice. The NDA 1 is conducted in April and is also known as NDA April, whereas the second one NDA 2 is held in November and so is also called NDA November.

The only difference in each of the NDA exams are the exam dates, batches to which candidates will join, cut off age date, vacancies.

In UPSC NDA 2 2019, these details are as follows.

Exam date: 17th November 2019

Joining batch: Union Public Service Commission is conducting NDA 2 2019 for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 144th Course, and for the 106th Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from 2nd July, 2020.

Cut off age date: Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 02nd January, 2001 and not later than 1st January, 2004 are eligible.

There are limited ways to join the Indian Army. And there are only two ways to join it after 12th class. One is through UPSC NDA exam, and the other is through 10+2 Tech scheme.

At SSB, candidates undergo Intelligence and Personality Test.

Army and Navy wings of NDA, and 10+2 Cadet Entry for INA will undergo Officers Potentiality Test.

Air Force wing candidates will undergo Officers Potentiality test and Computerised Pilot Selection System (CPSS).

Two stage selection procedure at Selection Centres, Air Force Selection Boards, Naval Selection Boards include Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test.
