CBSE Class 10 Board exams suspended, except for North-East Delhi: HRD Minister

HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ during his live interaction with students mentioned that there will be no board exams for class 10 nationwide, except for students from North-East Delhi.

CBSE Board Exam 2020: Attention students, the HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ during his live interaction with students mentioned that there will be no board exams for class 10 nationwide, except for students from North-East Delhi. With this, he also mentioned that an adequate time of 10 days will be provided to students of Class 12 and Class 10 for the preparation of exams. It is to keep in mind that CBSE has previously mentioned that papers of only important exams of class 12 will take place now.

“No examination to be held for class X students nationwide, except for students from North-East Delhi. An adequate time of 10 days will be given to all students for the preparation of exams,” the minister tweeted.

Which CBSE Board Exams 2020 are still pending?
The Central Board of Secondary Education is going to conduct the CBSE Board Exams 2020 for 29 subjects only which are vital for students.

Amongst these are 12 subjects in the CBSE Class 12 board exams which students have to appear for because the marks for these important subjects will be required in the college admission process.

Even though the CBSE Class 10 board exams have been cancelled all over India since only very minor subjects were left for exams, CBSE will go ahead with the board exams of the major subjects which were postponed for a certain section of Delhi students due to the North Delhi violence that had broken out in February.

The HRD Minister has announced the dates for JEE Main and NEET. JEE Main will be held between July 18, 2020, and 23, 2020. While NEET 2020 will be held on July 26, 2020.

On whether the syllabus will be reduced for the upcoming academic year, the HRD Minister said that due to Coronavirus, as the academic schedule will start late, the ministry has asked central, State board to reduce syllabus for the commencing academic session, said HRD minister Ramesh Pokhriyal

He also said that the UGC calendar has suggested in conducting the college exams from July 1 and to start the new session in August.

“College-level exams to be held from July 1 and will try to declare the result by July-end so that the session can begin from August. We have asked institutes to be aware about the situation in their area. In case an area is still affected in July, they can promote students on basis of previous and internal exams,” Nishank said.
