Do You Think The Heart Is Where The Home Is?

Do You Think The Heart Is Where The Home Is?

Horne is where the heart is, this is an all too familiar line sure to ring a bell. But, what we need to practise these days is how to bring your home to your heart – tricky right? But it’s necessary and why is it necessary, you ask? Well, we travel, we work, we go to our kids’ PTA meetings and all the while long to get back home and relax.

0f course, the physical ambiance is one thing, but it’s more of the fact that this is the place to gain our composure, find our inner peace and just feel completely sale from the outside world. But, if we can carry our troubles constantly in our mind everywhere we go (guilty? we all are), shouldn’t we be able to also carry our ‘home’ everywhere too, just to gain the feeling of peace? Here are three ways to do so.

We must nurture the thoughts of peace and sanctuary that our homes bring us

Tips To Carry Your ‘Home’ In Your Mind

Don’t Just Carry The Thoughts Of Home
As mentioned earlier, we do think about our problems in life, our bills, our memories of a bad day at work yesterday. But instead what we must nurture are the thoughts of peace and sanctuary that our homes bring us. For example, the smell of home-cooked food, (okay maybe this would make us hungry), or the comfort of your bean bag, this gives us the feeling of home and when we are in our own territory, we tend to be all the more confident and less sulking.

Never Make Home A Place
Acclaimed author Tad Williams once said, “Never make your home a place. Make a home for yourself, inside your own head. You’ll find what you need to furnish it – memory, friends you can trust, love of learning and other such things. That way it will go with you wherever you journey.” There is no better way of saying it, it’s so much better to make your mind the home you need/want rather than a physical home.’ Find comfort in your head and carry with it all the best things you’ve witnessed and It’s remarkable how different (and better) you’d live your life.

Make Your Heart Your Very Home
Spiritual disciples view the heart as the ultimate vessel for your soul and their contentedness with the world is enviable. So, rather than carrying the burden of fear, nervousness and if we could learn to wrap our home In our very minds and hearts, the toughest moments in life can be tackled with ease that you never knew you were capable of.

We are capable of great things as humans, Our minds are such powerful tools that we can accomplish almost anything in life. This is one of the greatest and possibly simplest way to begin that journey.
