Make A List To Prepare For The Next Day
Rather than have a flurry of thoughts in your mind when you go to bed, make a list of all the things you need to do the next day, the previous night itself. Also, writing down your thoughts can help empty your mind before bed, which means there won’t be any over-thinking when you finally get Into bed.
When was the last time you picked up a book and dedicatedly spent time reading it without constantly checking your phone? Use this pre-bedtime time to catch up on your reading. It is also a good way to lull your mind to sleep as it helps reduce stress.
Opt For Warm Lighting
When you come back home from work, use soft and warm lighting rather than white or fluorescent options. Warm light which is more towards the ‘red’ end of the spectrum is easier on the eyes and it helps the eyes and body adjust to sundown. By spending time in warm light, your brain also gets signalled that it is the evening and it’s time to unwind.
