A biographical drama television series, The Crown star Matt Smith appeared on Thursday’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen with his co-star Claire Foy.

The 35-year-old actor who plays a role of Queen Elizabeth’s II husband Prince Philip, tells his choice for Meghan Markle’s role in the future season of the series The Crown.

The upcoming second season of the Netflix original drama series will be set during the period of the 1960s, and show’s star Smith is talking ahead to the present time.

Smith said, “Who’s that singer? Who’s the singer who goes out with Justin Bieber? Selena Gomez!”

“You love Selena Gomez,” the 33-year-old Claire Foy who was also there on the talk show said before Smith double-downed his statement, saying, “She’s playing Meghan Markle!”

According to the reports, the royal couple Markle and Harry will tie the knot in May at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the couple announced their engagement on November 27.

Foy told the host And Cohen, “We love it that they’re getting married, it’s amazing.” She added, “She’s an actress so that’s great.” Smith jokingly said, “Well she’s not anymore, her life is over.”

Just after one day when Harry and Markle announced their royal engagement, it was officially announced that Meghan will not be portraying fans favorite character, Rachel Zane on the popular legal drama Suits. Markle confirmed the news and also said that she would be retiring from acting in order to focus on her royal duties.

During a talk at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, Smith said, “I feel sorry for her.” He added, “It’s such a transition in her life, and it’s such a huge thing to take on. Life as she knows it is gone. But hey, she’s marrying the prince of Britain — how exciting for her.”

The Crown season 2 is all set to release today on Netflix.
