Digital Gujarat Scholarship 2019-20: Gujarat Scholarships are provided by the Government of Gujarat and its ancillary departments. These scholarships are specifically aimed at students from underprivileged or economically backward sections of society. Gujarat Scholarships entitles students from all age groups; right from school level and college level to research level.

With over 30+ scholarships presented before the candidates, finding the right scholarship shouldn’t be a problem. However, to be eligible for any of the 30+ Gujarat Scholarships, candidates have to ensure that they are domiciled in the state of Gujarat. Furthermore, there are certain other criteria that must be fulfilled by the candidates. Read on to explore a list of scholarships provided by the Gujarat Government. EBC Fees Exemption Scheme

  • Application Period: June to August every year.
  • Eligibility:
    • Students at the graduate level
    • Annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000
  • Award:
    • 100% tuition fee exemption for students who have secured more than 60% marks in class 12.
    • 50% tuition fee exemption for students that have less than 60% of marks in class 12

Educational Assistance for NTDNT Students Studying at Self-Financed College

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility :
    • NTDNT students (Nomadic Tribes and Denotified Tribes) studying in self-financed colleges.
    • Annual family income should be under Rs. 2,00,000
  • Award: Financial aid up to Rs. 50,000

Fellowship Scheme

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility:
    • Students from SC/ST/SEBC or other backward classes pursuing class 11 to post-graduation level.
    • Must have scored a minimum of 70% in class 10
    • Family income must be less than Rs. 2,50,000

Food Bill Assistance for Medical/Engineering Students (SEBC)

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: Medical/ engineering SEBC students in college-affiliated hostels
  • Award: Rs. 1,200 Per Month as reimbursement for meals

Food Bill Assistance in College Attached Hostels

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • ST students who are pursuing a regular course
    • Annual family income must be less than Rs. 2,50,000
  • Award: Financial assistance with the food bill

Food bill Assistance to SC Students

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • SC students pursuing an Engineering/ medical program
    • Annual family income must not be more than Rs. 2,50,000
  • Award: Financial assistance of Rs. 1,000 Per Month for a duration of 10 months

Higher Education Scheme

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • Students who are pursuing medical/engineering programs.
    • Students also pursuing graduate/post-graduate courses in Commerce, Arts, Science, Law, Pharmacy are eligible too.
  • Award: Financial aid ranging from Rs. 1,000 – Rs. 6,000 per annum

Higher Secondary Scholarship (Minority)

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • Class 11 and 12 students from the minority community.
    • Annual family income should be less than Rs. 1,50,000
  • Award:
    • Class 11 students will receive financial aid up to Rs. 725 p.a (hosteller ) / Rs. 475 (day scholar)
    • Class 12 students will receive financial aid up to Rs. 1140 p.a (hosteller) / Rs. 840 (day scholar)

Higher Secondary Scholarship (SEBC)

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: SEBC students pursuing their class 11 and 12
  • Award: 
    • Class 11 students will receive financial aid up to Rs. 725 p.a (hosteller) / Rs. 475 (day scholar)
    • Class 12 students will receive financial aid up to Rs. 840 p.a (hosteller) Rs. 540 (day scholar)

Instrumental Assistance for First-year Students of Medical/Engineering/Diploma Courses

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • ST students who are pursuing their 1st year medical/ engineering/ diploma courses from a recognized government college (full-time only).
    • Annual family income should not exceed Rs. 2,50,000
  • Award: Students will be reimbursed for the instruments purchased for their 1st-year course.

Instrumental Assistance for Medical, Engineering, Diploma Students (SEBC)

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • SEBC students pursuing their medical/ engineering/ diploma courses
    • Annual family income should be less than Rs. 2,50,000
  • Award: 
    • Medical students will receive financial aid of Rs. 10,000
    • Engineering students will receive financial aid of Rs. 5,000
    • Diploma students will receive financial aid of Rs. 3,000

Instrumental Help to SC Students (Engineering, Medical, Diploma Courses)

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: SC students pursuing an engineering, medical or diploma program.
  • Award: Annual family income must be less than Rs. 44,500

Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojana

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • Students that achieved 80 percentile in their class 10 or 12 and are obtaining admission for a first-year degree or diploma courses.
    • Students that achieved 65% in their diploma courses and are obtaining admission for first/ second-year diploma courses.
    • The annual income of the family must not exceed Rs. 6,00,000
  • Award: 
    • Financial aid for tuition fee up to Rs. 2,00,000
    • Financial assistance for hostel food up to Rs. 12,000
    • Financial aid for books and equipment up to Rs. 10,000

    • SC girl students eligible

Scholarships to the Disabled Students

  • Application Period: June to August
  • Eligibility: 
    • Students from class 1 to 12 that possess a disability percentage of more than 40%
    • The annual income of the family must not exceed Rs. 50,000/-
    • Candidate must have secured at least 40% in the previous exam

Special Scholarship for Boys and Girls Students

    • Students from class 1 to class 10 are eligible
    • The student must have at least 70% attendance in school
    • Students belonging to the Dalit-Bava, Garo-Garoda, Hadi, Matang, Nadiya, Sadhu, Seva, Thori, Tirbanda/ Tirgar, Turi, Turi-Barot, Valmiki and Vankar community are eligible to apply.

Scholarship Gujarat – How to Apply

Students who wish to avail these scholarships must register themselves on the Digital Gujarat Portal. The application process is as follows:

Step – 1: Registration

  1. Visit Digital Gujarat gov.in Scholarship and click on the login button.
  2. Existing users can log in with their existing password and Email ID.
  3. Meanwhile, new users can enroll themselves by clicking on the “New Click for New Registration” link.
  4. New users can log in with various credentials such as email ID, phone number or Aadhar number.
  5. New users are required to provide relevant information and save.
  6. Once the information is saved, an OTP will be sent to the provided mobile number.
  7. Enter OTP to complete registration.

Step – 2: Profile Update

  1. Registered candidates will be redirected to the “Profile Update Page”.
  2. Enter all required fields.
  3. Candidates are also required to upload their most recent passport-sized photographs.

Step – 3: Scholarship Application

  1. Once the profile has been updated, registered candidates should log in to their account and enter the “dashboard”.
  2. Then, navigate to the filter service section and select “Scholarship”.
  3. The candidates will then be presented with a list of available scholarships.
  4. Candidates are required to select the scholarship the wish to avail.
  5. Post this step; candidates are asked to select their application language.
  6. Instructions will be presented, and candidates are required to read through them carefully.
