Android is the most famous mobile operating system across 2.5 billion users. But, here is the warning to Android Users to uninstall the apps which have been recognized with harmful malware, said in a new security report by White Ops, a cybersecurity company.
White Ops, a cybersecurity company revealed a list of 116 apps that are harmful for Android Users. A report said that these apps never make their way to your device but steal your personal data. According to the White Ops company report, Whenever an android user clicks on hidden advertisements, then these apps take command over your smartphone and steal your data. The company says that there is a huge possibility that an average Android user will utilize some of the applications on their devices out of the provided list of 116 apps.
The firm said that these 116 harmful apps are leveraging two different codes called “Soraka” and “Sogo” which displays plenty of ads continuously on your android device. If any user clicks on the displayed ads then the app directly controls your mobile and steals your data. Like this, the ads help the producers of these apps make money. Moreover, the White Ops company reported that these 116 malicious applications can conceal from anti-malware software.
Also, the company held a deep dive into one of the apps in doubt which remains on the Google Play store at the time of reporting, Best Fortune Explorer. The app looks like a lovely assumption, but the fact is much more annoying. White Ops also displayed a GIF of the frustrating ads at work. Best Fortune Explorer was shown to be capable of viewing full-screen adverts including the user’s home screen. Like Best Fortune Explorer, all of the apps found out were stated to display similar behaviours.
“Those hiding behaviours are significant. The fraudsters are getting smarter-they know this is now an arms race, they’re trying to slow down analysis with these tactics. We’re seeing these types of behaviours more and more.” said John Laycock of White Ops.
While reporting, Best Fortune Explorer has accrued over 100,000 installs and has three stars of an average review rating.
As per the Forbes report, Google has been informed of the apps found by White Ops. Besides, it looks like some of the 116 programmers remain on the Play Store.
White Ops proposed Android lovers to uninstall any of these below-mentioned apps from Android phones to protect their data. So, check out the list of 116 malicious apps provided with their package names and remove them.
