CBSE Board Exams 2022 will be conducted in Two Terms for Class 10th & 12th 2021-2022 Academic Batch

CBSE 2022 Board Exams are divided into two terms for the students of the current academic year 2021-2022 due to the school closures and examination disruptions in this covid-19 pandemic situation. The central board of secondary education (CBSE) now decided some amends for the student’s future.

For the academic batch 2021-2022, CBSE will be conducting two board exams ie., Term-I and Term-II exams. Each term exam will be held with a 50 percent syllabus. Now, CBSE class 10 and class 12 board exams hold two terms from the current session where the first term questions will be objective at the same time the second term questions will be subjective. Moreover, the final marks gonna be provided based on the performance in both these exams, which will carry equal weightage.

“The syllabus for the Board examination 2021-22 will be rationalized similar to that of the last academic session,” said the official. “Students will study only the specific syllabus meant for that particular term-end exam. Further, there is no part of first term syllabus in the second term exam and vice versa” said the CBSE official.

The term-I will be conducted in November-December while the term-II will be kept in March-April. The first term exam will be a 90 minute paper with MCQs only and it will likely be kept in schools under external superintendents’ supervision. The second term exam will be a 2-hour exam with different question formats and likely to be held in examination centers.

CBSE Board Term 1 and 2 Exams 2022 Internal Assessment Details

Concerning internal assessment, the board stated, for classes 9 and 10 the whole year regardless of Term 1 and Term 2, will contain the three periodic tests, student enrichment, portfolio, and practical work/ speaking listening activities/ project. Although for classes 11 and 12, the internal assessment will incorporate end-of-topic or unit tests/ exploratory activities/ practicals/ projects. As per the CBSE official statement, “efforts will be made to make the internal assessment, practical and project work more credible and valid.

Also, CBSE added, “Schools will also create a student profile for all assessments started over the academic year and maintain the evidence in digital format. Still, if schools remain closed in the first term exam period, students will take Term 1 exams online/offline from home and its weightage will be decreased while the weightage of Term II exams will be increased for the declaration of the final results and also apply the same rules in vice versa.

“In all the above cases, data analysis of marks of students will be undertaken to ensure the integrity of internal assessments and home-based exams,” said the notification issued by CBSE academic director Joseph Emmanuel.
