Myopia, cataract, dry eyes, red eyes, conjunctivitis etc. are some common eye problems we face in our day-to-day life due to improper care. Once you develop an eye disease, it becomes difficult to get rid of it. It also takes a fortune to cure the same.

Today, technology plays a vital role in making our lite and work easy,but it also has side effects such as triggering eyesight issues due to continuously working at computers and other devices.

And though some eye problems may occur later in life, some appear due to one’s genes. However all of these eye issues have a cure that is natural, healthy and free from side effects. So, here are some common eye ailments, along with their causes and Ayurveda cures and remedies.

Myopia

Regular headaches, light sensitivity during night and eye strain are some symptoms of myopia. Research suggests that myopia is genetic for most cases. However, according to latest research it is also caused due to watching television, sitting too close or reading books and working for long time durations without breaks. Hence, people who cultivate the habit of viewing things from a closer distance suffer from myopia.

Having a diet rich in vitamin A, B, C, D and E are essential to combat myopia. Foods like tomatoes, fish, apples, carrots, green leafy vegetables, peppers and nuts are good sources of these vitamins.

Ayurveda offers several ways to treat myopia. Triphala or a mix of three fruit extracts including Terminalia Bellirica, Indian gooseberry and yellow Myrobalan is an effective remedy. Triphala is easily available at Ayurveda stores and it can be prepared at home from the fruit extracts.

Not just Triphala but, Kusuma Varthi Anajana is also an Ayurveda medicine used for treating myopia. This contains black pepper, long pepper and common jasmine along with sesamum flowers. A mix of these ingredients with water in a form of a paste also minimizes the risk of myopia.

Also, coconut, almond, anise seed and candy sugar can be effectively used as a home remedy. Mix these together and make a powder. This powder improves myopic conditions when consumed twice a day.

Hyperopia

Hyperopia also known as farsightedness, is a disorder in which a person is unable to focus on objects at a close range. If you are unable to read or see objects that are nearby, you might be suffering from hyperopia or farsightedness. There are numerous natural ways for curing the same and some of the natural ways to cure hyperopia includes the consumption of grape seed extract that possesses excellent antioxidant properties.

Consuming grape seed extract daily, will ensure the protection of the cornea, retina and the associated muscles. This natural remedy further enables a sharper and clearer vision of the objects that are close at hand. Another natural product to heal the eyes and prevent farsightedness is turmeric. The juice of fresh turmeric is highly effective for the correction of farsightedness as it pumps blood supply to the cornea.
